How Habitat for Humanity Helps
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit housing organization serving communities in all 50 states as well as some 70 countries worldwide. Part of Habitat’s mission and vision is to provide decent housing to everyone in need.
Volunteers, such as those working in the Twin Cities, work alongside Habitat homeowners to build homes which have an affordable mortgage.
Habitat believes safe, decent, and economical housing helps families in need create a more promising future.
Indeed, many studies show housing quality plays a big role in the overall well-being of children – including helping them to achieve better grades and better financial health. Habitat for Humanity believes strong, stable homes build strong and stable communities.
Habitat for Humanity’s family selection process consists of three criteria:
- The level of need
- Their willingness to work alongside Habitat
- Their ability to pay an affordable mortgage
Our Long-Term Involvement in Habitat for Humanity
We firmly believe in Habitat’s mission and the opportunities it provides for families struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Teams of individuals from Midwest Roofing, Siding & Windows have provided labor for many Twin Cities Habitat for Humanities projects over the years.
